Stikine River Adventure - The ODYSSEY Tour

Dates: July 25, 2005 - August 3, 2005
Start: Telegraph Creek, BC
End: Wrangell, Alaska

Trip Highlights: Telegraph Creek is a quaint little community nestled on the banks of the Stikine. We gather at the Stikine Riversong, which was the Hudson Bay Trading Post over 100 years ago. Clients will have ample opportunity to explore this historic community, which today is a bustling Tahltan Community of several hundred. The Stikine River is recognized the world over as one of the premier wilderness paddling experiences. We use very stable and safe AIRE inflatable kayaks. These state-of-the-art kayaks allow novice paddlers to enjoy an experience once only reserved for advanced paddlers. The lower Stikine River is a powerful river teeming with breathtaking scenery and historic sites that include:
· Glenora - abandoned Klondike Goldrush town site
· Boundary Range Mountains
· Great Glacier
· Boundary House
· Chief Shakes Hot Springs - incredibly soothing natural hot springs

This is a paddle that one never forgets - starting in the dryer interior of northern BC and passing gradually into the wetter coastal climate of southeast Alaska. This one has it all!

We rate this tour as moderate or a 6 on a scale of 1-10 based on level of physical fitness required. Previous river paddling experience is an asset but not mandatory to join this tour.
